Large Scale Interventions

Our Approach

There is nothing more powerful than getting the whole system in the room and giving them the space to use their collective wisdom to create something they want to make happen. We have heard it described as an existential experience. However it does not always happen that way – all too often PowerPoint, games, technology and gimmicks get in the way of meaningful engagement. We’ve coined a word for this: entertrainment! Our approach (and deep understanding of large group dynamics) means that real work with whole systems can be productive, meaningful and can accelerate transformation immensely.

Shared Vision

We support the development of shared vision in organisations. Some change experts believe 'visioning' to be the responsibility of leaders. Others advocate that ‘people support what they help to create’ therefore visions should be co-created. Neither are wrong! We can help you decide where on the range of tell, sell, test, consult and co-create you are and design processes that match.

Leadership & LGIs

We have been supportive companions to many leaders in change as they struggle to strike the right balance between clear direction and inviting active participation. LGIs provide many opportunities and responsibilities for leaders to ensure success. We can advise on making the initial resource commitment, clearly articulating their leadership perspective (as ‘data’ for the system) and being ready to embody the new ways of working.

Choice

Having been trained in 18 key methodologies and studied many new emergent forms we are well placed to help you select which approach will suit your needs. This can range from our simple papers and charts to deeper exploration what will serve you best.

Core Theories

We provide a deep knowledge base to our interventions. LGIs are based on a large body of theory and experience. We bring together the work of the Tavistock Institute on group dynamics, large and small, various aspects of 'systems' theory, lessons from the New Sciences and the principles of adult learning.
