Reflexive Leadership

Our Approach

We believe the days of the natural-born solitary heroic leader (usually male!) are over, even if this model was ever true or appropriate. The rate and complexity of change in modern organisations precludes reliance on such messianic models and requires a more distributed model of leadership and a realisation that everyone has a role to play in transformative action in workplaces and communities. This requires a problematising approach and an attitude that is willing to explore the deeper and wider elements that interplay in hindering or facilitating change. These elements can be hidden from superficial conventional analysis this is being driven by the rate of change. But they can be brought to the surface by close reflexive attention that applies ‘double-loop learning’ to our context and our personal role within it. Our approach is underpinned by the analysis of Argyris, Bourdieu and Alvesson.

Reflective Practice

We offer coaching in reflective and reflexive practices helping you to develop the skills and habits to resource you in leading change. We can provide various tools including journaling (reflective writing) and an holistic life assessment.

Retreats

We run group retreats to provide individuals and teams with quality time and space to develop, deepen and strengthen their reflective and reflexive skills.

Personal & Team Strengths

We provide strength-based team and individual development that deepens group and self-understanding. Increased self-knowledge, as Socrates argued, is a core element to transformative action.

Tailor Made Approaches

We do not believe "one size fits all" when it comes to supporting leaders and groups through change. Contact us so we can work with you to design an approach to suit your needs.
